THE FROST & VERY COLD TEMPERATURES
----------------------------------------
A small group of walkers started off from the pub in Barnt Green to walk across fields, along canal towpaths at Alvechurch, passing some interesting cottages and walking back into Barnt Green.
It was a gloriously sunny day and quite mild for the time of year so a stop was made just after the canal walking, for a welcoming cool drink.
A very pleasant easy walk.
------------------------------------
On a sunny morning a small group of WFWI members set off from the Village Hall to walk a Blossom Trail around Church Lench taking in some of the older orchards and some wonderful scenery.
It was an opportunity to get out in the fresh air, have some exercise, view some spectacular scenery as well as getting to know some other WFWI members.
Some of the regular Wythall WI walking members did not miss out on the usual eats and social time on our way back. A recently joined Wythall WI member had the chance to get to know her fellow members better.
--------------------------------------
Another cold and very wet day for our walk. However the five that had turned up, decided that they still wanted to do the walk up and down the towpath to Warwick from Hatton Locks. They dogs still needed their walk!!!
There were plenty of puddles to negotiate but not too many people around. We did meet a group of ladies from Hatton WI and they said that they would like to join us some time.
The Hawthorn blossom was trying to break through and the spring flowers- daffodils , hyacyths and primroses were bowing their heads under the weight of the rain.
There was plenty of chatter but the pace was quick. Before we knew it we had done 2.5 miles so we decided that we should turn back the way we had come.
5 miles is the most the walking group has done for a long time and certainly not in the rain.
Back to the pub afterwards for a drink and hot meal.
